Erin Burnett shows yet again why I gave up watching CNN a long time ago. She demonstrates not only a foolish narcissism in thinking that everyone thinks just like her, but shows a terrible streak of stupid by expecting the catholic church to change centuries of church doctrine, to embrace the new more free society. Just read a few of the incredibly naive quotes, by Ms. Burnett.
“Isn’t it time for the church, which is supposed to be an inclusive, generous, giving organization, to move ahead on gay rights?”
“Even if they [gay people] love each other, isn’t the Catholic Church supposed to be about love?“
Okay, it’s hard to say they [gay couples] have inherent human dignity and then say they can’t be part of your church.”
Many of those things that people are looking to and wondering if the church will, in fact, alter or adjust to the times.”
Why a lot of people have been frustrated with the church in this country that have abandoned it. Could there ever be a change here, where women are allowed – you’re Sister Simone. What about having a priest that was a woman? What about the symbol that that would send to little girls?
I was raised Catholic. A lot of people I know were, and most of them are no longer practicing. And the reasons – some of them have to do with women’s rights, and those issues, women priests, but a lot of it has to do with the stance on gay marriage. Are you willing to lose people if they don’t go along your point of view?
What is it with these people who seem to think they can dictate to organizations with MILLIONS upon Millions of members? Is it all about you Erin? Did you abandon your faith in a church because they wouldn’t pander to a TINY percentage of people? That’s right a TINY percentage. When did people start thinking that they were all powerful and could overturn centuries of church teaching. Aren’t the liberals always the one screaming about how church should remain private, and has no place in government? Yet here we have Erin, suggesting that the catholic church actually throw away their CORE faith based beliefs in order to accommodate who? Who are these people to dictate to the Pope? He is the HEAD of the catholic church!! She might as well go on over to the king of Iran and order him to change his laws and system of government. I mean really who is she to dictate to the catholic church? Talk about some self aggrandizing notions.
In a way, I understand the liberal fascination with her. She is so refreshingly naive and foolish. Like a child really. Grow up Erin. The Catholic Church isn’t going to change because you think it should. How incredibly ignorant you are to think they would.
